Products
Which bag should I use for my application?
It depends on four things: the material you're packing (weight, particle size, moisture sensitivity), how you're filling the bag, how you'll discharge or empty it, and your storage or handling conditions. Browse our shop by industry pages to narrow things down quickly, or get in touch with the team on 1300 234 235, who can recommend the right bag once they know your product and volume.
What's the difference between woven polypropylene, bulk bags and plastic bags?
Woven polypropylene (PP) is made by weaving flat PP tapes into a fabric, giving it excellent tensile strength. This is the material used for sacks, feed bags, firewood bags and sandbags, typically handling 25 to 100 kg, and you can read more in our woven polypropylene guide.
A bulk bag (also called an FIBC or bulka bag) is simply a large-format woven PP bag with lifting loops, built to carry 500 kg to 2,000 kg of dry bulk material; see the full FIBC/Bulk Bags range.
Plastic bags (LDPE film) are a different product altogether, being a non-woven, flexible film used for pallet covers, courier bags and lighter-duty applications rather than heavy loads. Browse LDPE bags for the full plastic bags range.
Can the bags be reused?
Standard single-trip bags (5:1 safety factor) are designed for one use only.
Bags rated for multiple trips (6:1 safety factor) can be reused, but only after a full visual inspection, and ideally within a closed-loop system where the bag is cleaned, reconditioned and used for the same product each time.
Woven sacks and firewood bags in good condition can generally be reused for similar dry, non-hazardous goods.
What's the difference between coated and uncoated woven sacks?
An uncoated sack is plain woven PP fabric, breathable, with tiny natural gaps between the tapes, which suits products like firewood, chaff and general dry goods where airflow matters.
A coated (laminated) sack has a thin PP or PE film bonded to the fabric, sealing those gaps to provide better moisture resistance, dust control and a smoother, higher-quality print surface. Coated bags suit fine powders, moisture-sensitive products and premium retail packaging; uncoated bags suit bulkier, breathable goods.
See our woven sacks and laminated bags ranges.
What's the difference between circular and U-panel bulk bags?
A circular bulk bag is woven from a single continuous tube of fabric with minimal seams, which reduces leakage risk and suits finer, free-flowing products.
A U-panel bulk bag is built from a U-shaped body plus additional side panels. It's a widely used, cost-effective construction, particularly in construction and general industrial applications, though it holds its shape less predictably than a baffled (form-stable) bag when stacked.
Are Pacific Packaging products compliant with Australian Standards?
Compliance varies by product category, so check the individual listing or ask the team for documentation.
As an example, our ratchet tie-downs comply with AS/NZS 4380:2001, and many of our products are manufactured in ISO-certified facilities operating under recognised quality management systems, as outlined on our quality assurance page.
For anything regulatory-critical (hazardous goods transport, food contact, export), request the relevant certification directly from the team.
Ordering
Which warehouse will my order ship from?
We operate distribution centres in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Townsville and Rockhampton. See our locations page for details. Orders are generally dispatched from whichever warehouse holds stock closest to your delivery address, to keep freight times and costs down.
Can I collect from my local warehouse?
Yes, pickup may be available from selected warehouse locations depending on stock and the product ordered. Check the locations page for your nearest branch, and place your order or contact the team first so they can confirm the right pickup location and timing before you visit.
Can I mix products to receive bulk pricing?
For mixed pallet quantities, repeat trade supply or combined bulk orders across different product lines, speak with our sales team directly, or apply for a wholesale account, so pricing can be reviewed across your whole order rather than product by product.
Do you offer pallet quantities?
Yes, many products are available in pallet quantities in addition to standard pack or carton sizes. Check the product page for options, or speak with our team, or a wholesale account manager, for a pallet quote on larger volumes.
Can I purchase a sample?
Yes, free sample packs are available for Australian businesses wanting to test the quality, material and suitability of FIBC, firewood and woven polypropylene bags before committing to a larger order. Submit a request on our contact page with your bag type, intended use and delivery details (sample requests are subject to approval and availability).
Can I buy a single item?
Yes, most stocked products can be purchased in the standard pack, carton or single-unit quantity shown on the product page.
Custom printed or made-to-order items are the exception, as these typically carry a minimum order quantity.
Do you offer trade pricing?
Yes, through a free wholesale trade account, which unlocks tiered volume pricing, optional 30-day payment terms and dedicated account support for eligible Australian businesses ordering regularly.
How do I open a wholesale account?
Apply online through the wholesale accounts page. You'll need an ABN, and the credit team will review your application and trade references, with most applications assessed within two business days. Once approved, you'll get access to wholesale pricing and (if eligible) 30-day credit terms.
Do you offer 30-day trading terms?
Yes, approved wholesale account holders may qualify for 30-day payment terms from the invoice date, subject to a satisfactory credit check. See our business accounts and trade credit accounts pages for details. This isn't available on standard retail orders, only on approved trade accounts.
Can I order using a purchase order?
Yes, this is generally arranged through a wholesale trade account rather than the standard retail checkout. Approved account holders can reference a PO number on their order and invoice. If you're ordering as a business and want to use your own PO process, apply for a wholesale account or contact the team to set this up.
Can I pay by EFT?
Yes. EFT is the standard payment method for approved wholesale and trade account invoices, alongside optional 30-day terms. For standard retail orders, you'll pay using the options shown at checkout; if you'd prefer to arrange an EFT payment directly instead, contact the team to organise this before your order ships.
Can I use my own freight company?
This isn't a standard checkout option, so if you have your own freight arrangement or carrier account you'd like to use, contact the team directly to discuss whether this can be accommodated for your order.
Can I change my delivery address after ordering?
Contact the team as soon as possible after placing your order. Address changes can usually be made before an order is picked and dispatched, but once it's left the warehouse it generally can't be redirected. See our delivery information page or get in touch to request a change.
Shipping
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes, free metro shipping is currently offered on orders over a certain margin. Check out our shipping information for more info.
Regional and remote deliveries, or large/palletised orders, are calculated separately based on weight and postcode.
How much is shipping to my postcode?
Shipping rates are calculated based on the weight of your order and your delivery postcode. Large or palletised items may incur extra freight charges, and the team will contact you directly if a manual freight quote is needed for bulky or oversized orders. Full details are on our shipping information page.
How long will delivery take?
This depends on stock availability, order size and freight booking cut-off times. Many stocked products qualify for same-day dispatch if ordered before the daily cut-off (shown at checkout), while large pallet orders, custom/printed orders or regional and remote freight will take longer.
Dispatch doesn't occur on national public holidays, and peak periods like EOFY, Black Friday and Christmas can add extra processing time. See our shipping information page for more information.
Can you ship Australia wide?
Yes, we ship across Australia including metro, regional and remote locations, with freight options and costs varying accordingly. See our locations page and shipping information pages.
Can you deliver to farms, construction sites or depots?
Yes. For palletised deliveries, a forklift may be required at the delivery location to unload. Let the team know in advance if one isn't available, as tail-lift or manual unload services can be arranged for an additional charge. For more details view our shipping information page.
Can I organise my own freight?
This isn't a standard checkout option, so if you have your own freight arrangement or carrier account you'd like to use, contact the team directly to discuss whether this can be accommodated for your order.
What happens if stock isn't available in my nearest warehouse?
The team can generally source stock from another warehouse in the network, though this may affect your delivery timeframe. Check our locations page to confirm availability and the best dispatch option for your order.
What happens if my order arrives damaged?
Inspect your delivery on arrival and report any damage within 48 hours. Contact the team with your order number and photos of the damage, and they'll arrange a replacement or resolve the issue quickly. Full details are on our delivery information page.
Can you deliver to residential addresses?
Yes. Residential deliveries have Authority to Leave set as the default, meaning the courier can leave your order safely at the address without a signature. You accept responsibility for the order once it's marked as delivered, so it's worth choosing a secure spot or being home to receive it. See our delivery information page for more.
Do I need a forklift for pallet deliveries?
A forklift may be required at the delivery location to unload a palletised order. If one isn't available, let the team know in advance, as tail-lift or manual unload services can be arranged for an additional charge. Details are on our delivery information page.
Custom Printing
Can you print our logo?
Yes. We offer in-house flexographic printing on woven polypropylene sacks (firewood bags, feed bags, chaff bags and similar) and can also print bulk bags before the fabric is sewn.
Visit our custom printing page to share your artwork, quantity, bag type and delivery location, and the team will confirm options, lead times and pricing.
What is the minimum order quantity for custom printing?
This varies by product and number of colours. As a general guide, woven sack printing typically starts from around 1,000 bags for a single colour design, rising for two colours, while bulk bag printing typically has a minimum of around 500 bags.
Exact MOQs depend on the specific bag, material and artwork complexity, so confirm with the team via our sacks printing or bulk bags printing pages when requesting a quote.
How many colours can be printed?
Our in-house flexographic printing on woven sacks supports up to two colours on a single side, and bulk bag printing can generally support more colours, applied before the bag is sewn.
Confirm exact colour options for your specific product and design at the quote stage via custom printing.
What artwork format do you require?
Vector files are required for proofing and plate-making, with accepted formats being AI, EPS, SVG or vector PDF, and colours specified as spot/Pantone where possible. Raster files (JPG/PNG) aren't suitable for plate-making; if that's all you have, a redraw may be quoted separately. Note we aren't a design service, so final artwork needs to be supplied press-ready. See our custom printing page for more information.
How long does production take for custom printing?
Lead time begins once you've approved your printed proof, and varies depending on the product, quantity and current production schedule. The team will confirm an estimated timeframe when you request your quote through our custom printing page.
Can I see a proof before production?
Yes. A proofing fee covers a digital artwork proof and one minor revision, and is deducted from your final invoice once you proceed with the order. Additional revisions or artwork redraws may be quoted separately if needed. See our custom printing page for the full process.
Can you print both sides?
Our in-house flexographic printing on woven sacks is single-sided (up to two colours on one side of the bag). Bulk bags are printed on the flat fabric panels before the bag is sewn, so multi-panel branding may be possible depending on the construction. View the custom printing page for more information.
Can you match Pantone colours?
Yes, wherever possible we ask for artwork colours to be specified as spot or Pantone references, which helps us match your brand colours accurately during plate-making. View the custom printing page for more information.
Can I supply my own artwork?
Yes, in fact we require it. Vector files are needed for proofing and plate-making, in AI, EPS, SVG or vector PDF format, with colours specified as spot/Pantone where possible. Raster files (JPG/PNG) aren't suitable for plate-making; if that's all you have, a redraw may be quoted separately. View the custom printing page for the full specifications.
Bulk Bags (FIBC)
Which bulk bag is right for my application?
It comes down to the product you're storing or transporting, your required load rating, filling method, discharge process, site handling and storage conditions. Open top closed bottom bags suit simple filling and storage; spout top or duffle top bags support more controlled filling and discharge; baffle bags hold a square shape for better pallet stacking; and food grade, lined or laminated options add protection for sensitive materials. Browse the full FIBC/Bulk bags range to see our full product range.
What do SWL and Safety Factor mean?
SWL (Safe Working Load) is the maximum weight the bag is rated to carry under normal use, and should never be exceeded. Safety Factor is the ratio between the bag's tested breaking strength and its SWL: a standard single-trip bag has a 5:1 safety factor (tested to hold five times its rated load before failure), while multi-trip bags are typically rated 6:1. Our bulk bags are manufactured to ISO 21898:2024, which governs this testing.
What's the difference between Type A, B, C and D bulk bags?
This classification relates to static electricity control, and mainly matters when handling flammable or combustible materials.
Type A is standard woven PP with no static protection, suitable for non-combustible materials only.
Type B is similar but made from material with a lower breakdown voltage to reduce the risk of dangerous static discharges.
Type C ("conductive") has conductive threads woven through it and must be grounded during filling and emptying.
Type D is made from static-dissipative fabric that disperses charge safely without needing to be grounded. Most general-purpose stock bags are Type A. See our FIBC bags guide for the full details and working in a combustible dust environment.
Do I need a liner for FIBC bulk bags?
This depends on your product. Liners (thin PP film inserts) are typically recommended for fine powders, moisture-sensitive materials, food products, or anything needing extra protection against contamination or sifting through the fabric weave, even on a coated/laminated bag.
For general dry goods without moisture or fine-particle concerns, a standard bag without a liner is usually sufficient. Browse our coated, laminated and liner bulk bags range.
Can bulk bags be reused?
Only bags specifically rated for multiple trips (typically 6:1 safety factor) should be reused, and only after a full inspection confirms no damage to the fabric, seams or lifting loops. Single-trip bags (5:1 safety factor) are designed for one use only and shouldn't be refilled to full capacity a second time. See our FIBC bags guide for more information.
Are the FIBC Bulk Bags certified?
Our bulk bags are manufactured to ISO 21898:2024, the international standard for FIBC design, manufacture and testing.
UN-certified bags are available for transporting hazardous or regulated materials, and food-grade bulk bags are produced in BRC and ISO-certified facilities.
Specific certification documentation can be requested from the team for your particular product and use case.
Strapping & Load Restraint
Which strapping should I choose, PP, PET or Composite?
Polypropylene (PP) strapping is a cost-effective, lightweight option best suited to lighter loads and general bundling; browse our PP strapping range.
Polyester (PET) strapping offers much higher tensile strength and tension retention, making it a safer, rust-free alternative to steel for medium to heavy-duty palletised loads; see our PET strapping range.
Composite strapping combines strength with flexibility and shock resistance, a good middle ground when you need steel-like strength without the sharp edges or corrosion risk, particularly for irregular or export loads; browse composite strapping.
Our guide comparing composite strapping vs steel strapping covers this in more depth.
What tools do I need for strapping?
PP and PET strapping generally need a tensioner plus a separate sealing/crimping tool (or a combined manual or battery tensioner), used together with matching seals. Composite strapping typically uses an all-in-one tensioner with an integrated cutting mechanism, which streamlines application into a single tool and step.
See our strapping dispensers and strapping range for tools and accessories.
Which ratchet strap capacity do I require?
This depends on the weight of your load, the number of straps used and the angle of the lashing. As a general principle, the combined rated Lashing Capacity (LC) of all your straps needs to comfortably cover the load weight and account for the restraint angle, not just match it exactly.
For load-specific guidance, see our load restraint compliance guide or browse ratchet tie downs.
Are your ratchet straps AS/NZS compliant?
Yes, our ratchet tie-downs are manufactured and labelled to comply with AS/NZS 4380:2001, the Australian and New Zealand standard for load-restraint webbing straps. Always check the compliance tag on the specific strap before use; if it's missing or illegible, the strap shouldn't be relied on for compliance purposes.
See our load restraint compliance guide for more information.
What's the difference between LC and breaking strength?
Lashing Capacity (LC) is the rated maximum force the strap is designed to sustain during normal use when securing cargo, and this is the number you should never exceed. It's the correct rating term under AS/NZS 4380, rather than "Working Load Limit," which applies to lifting gear, not load restraint.
Breaking strength is the much higher force at which the strap will actually fail in testing, and the gap between LC and breaking strength is the built-in safety margin. See our load restraint compliance guide for more information.
